SAR-I-PUL (PAN): An international soldier and his Afghan interpreter were injured in a roadside bombing in the northern province of Sar-i-Pul, official said on Tuesday.
The incident took place on Monday night, when a military vehicle of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) struck the roadside bomb in the Bandar Sancharak district on the outskirts of Sar-i-Pul City.
Provincial police chief, Brig. Gen. Asadullah Sherzad, told Pajhwok Afghan News the injured people were taken to a health facility of the foreign soldiers.
Windowpanes of nearby houses and shops were smashed by the heavy explosion, a resident of the area, Ghulam Sakhi, 28, said.
Foreign troops cordoned off the area after the blast.
