SHARAN (PAN): Up to 250 kilograms of opium and hashish seized from across Paktika province have been destroyed, officials said on Wednesday.
Zabihullah Masaud, head of the provincial counter-narcotics department, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the drugs had been torched and the smugglers arrested.
Mohibullah Samim, the provincial governor, said that Afghan law prohibits the cultivation and trafficking of narcotics. He praised the counter-narcotics police for the operation.
