TIRINKOT (PAN executed a policeman hours after he was seized in the Chora district of central Uruzgan province, an official said.
The 23-year-old, Matiullah, was travelling home on a motorcycle when a 50-member group of militants abducted him in Gardez area late on Tuesday, the district police chief, Gul Mohammad, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The abductors had seized his bike and gun and hanged him to death from a tree in the night, the official said.
Matiullah’s dead body was handed over to his family.
Mohammad accused tribal elders of cooperation with the Taliban. He said an investigation had been launched into the murder.
