KUNDUZ CITYY (PAN and children, were wounded when a powerful blast rocked the centre of Khanabad district in northern Kunduz province late on Friday, police said.
The explosives planted on a bicycle were detonated in the town’s main square about 6pm, leaving five people, one policeman and four civilians, dead and 22 others, including women and children, injured, police spokesman, Syed Sarwar Hussaini, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The injured included four women and three children, he said.
Provincial public health director, Dr. Zafar Noori, confirmed more than 20 injured people had been delivered at the civil hospital in Kunduz city, the provincial capital. A number of them are critical, he said.
There was no claim of responsibility for the blast.
