MEHTARLAM (PAN commander has been arrested during an operation in eastern Laghman province.
The rebel leader was arrested in Alingar district, the force said in a statement.
The district chief, Adam Khan, told Pajhwok Afghan News the operation was carried out in the Khudan village. He said foreign troops arrested a prayer leader for his alleged links with the Taliban. Afghan police were also involved in the operation, he said.
A resident of the village, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the detainee had links with the insurgents.
