HERAT CITY (PAN convoy in western Herat province, an official said on Sunday.
The incident took place Saturday night in the Azizabad area of the Shindand district, the district chief, Abdul Nabi Baharduri, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He added that the convoy did not have security guards, and the insurgents managed to flee when police arrived in the scene.
Qari Yousuf Ahmadi, a spokesman for Taliban, claimed that 13 security guards were killed in the attack and 11 fuel tankers were torched.
