KANDAHAR CITY (PAN): Ten insurgents were killed during two separate clashes with border police in southern Kandahar province, an official said on Monday.
The incidents took place when the militants attacked border police checkpoints in Registan and Shobarak districts, Zulmai Ayubi, the governor spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News. At least, one policeman was killed and two others were injured.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the incidents, but they claimed the fighters had killed six Afghan soldiers in the Shawalikot district.
