Drone strike kills 4 in North Waziristan

ISLAMABAD (PAN): A US drone attack on northern Waziristan has killed four people, according to Pakistani government television station PTV.

The drone’s missile struck a car near Miranshah on Tuesday evening, minutes after iftar. The vehicle was destroyed and its, four passengers killed, according to the PTV report.

Malik Nehar, a resident of Miranshah, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the strike occurred in Qutub Khail region near Miranshah market. By his account, which differed from that of PTV, the missile struck a house, killing four people and injuring an unknown number of others.

The drone strike comes as trilateral talks between Afghanistan and the United States concerning regional security are underway in Islamabad.

Four others were killed in another drone strike in northern Waziristan three days ago.
