KUNDUZ CITY (PAN) for District 5 of Kunduz City, was killed and three civilians were injured in a roadside blast in Kunduz, an official said Thursday.
Mohammad’s vehicle struck a roadside bomb in the Sher Khan Bandar area of the 2nd police district of Kunduz City, an NDS source told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Mujibullah, an eyewitness, said that the blast took place at around 6am and blew out the windows of nearby houses.
He said: “When we came out, we saw smoke and dust in the blast area, and police did not let us to enter the area.”
Three children were evacuated to the hospital, according to Dr. Abdul Shukor, acting chief of the provincial hospital.
Security officials blamed the Taliban for Mohammad’s assassination. Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesman, claimed responsibility on behalf of the Taliban and said Mohammad had been killed along with two of his bodyguards, and his vehicle completely destroyed.
