MAIMANA (PAN have killed two kidnapped engineers working for a local company in captivity in northern Faryab province, an official said on Saturday.
The insurgents seized the three in Pashtunkot district 15 days ago, police chief, Brig. Gen. Sayed Ahmad Sami, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Two of them were killed by their captors and their bodies were being transported to their homes in eastern Nangarhar province.
Dr. Taj Aqa Nasiri, the father of one of the kidnapped workers, said his son was among the three CoAR employees went missing 15 days ago. He said the three had been kidnapped by the Taliban on their way to office.
However, his son was not among the dead.
Nasiri said the kidnappers had demanded $ 20,000 (960,400 afghanis) in ransom. He said the kidnappers were given 80,000 afghanis ($16,590.6), but they killed the two engineers. The kidnappers did not give us correct information, rising fear that they had killed the captives,” he said.
