KABUL 3-0 to retain the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Cup title for a second consecutive year.
The first half remained goalless, with Afghans showing great skills and courage to restrict the Indians who scored the first goal in the 80th minutes only after the Afghan goalie was ordered out of the ground by the match referee.
The referee’s decision busted the morale of Afghan players and encouraged the Indians to score another two goals. In their previous match, Afghanistan had held India to a 1-1 draw.
Afghanistan thrashed Nepal 1-0 to reach the final of the tournament, which also featured Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, the Maldives and Bhutan.
