QUETTA (PAN‘s southwestern Balochistan province, an official said on Monday.

One of their drivers was also  killed when 200 armed men opened fire on the tankers in front of a hotel in the Dadar village of Bolan area on Sunday night, a police officer, Qayum Bakhsh, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and detained two workers of the hotel in connection with the assault. No group has so far claimed responsibility, but Pakistani Taliban are often blamed for such attacks.

Islamabad closed a key supply route for NATO airstrike in the Mohmand tribal region in late November.

As a result of the closure, hundreds of loaded trucks are stranded on the Peshawar-Torkham highway and at insecure terminals near the Afghan-Pakistan border.
