The aid would be distributed to 1.2 million people in 14 drought-hit provinces, a statement from the Canadian embassy in Kabul said.
Canadian Minister for International Cooperation Beverley J. Oda said the assistance was part of her country’s pledges held out to Afghanistan.
Each of 42,000 families living in provincial capitals will also provided with 50 kilograms of wheat. “Canada is one of the major countries in the world supporting WFP in Afghanistan, J. Oda said.
