De Mistura said during a farewell call on the President Hamid Karzai on Tuesday evening: “I should say that my two-year mission in Afghanistan was interesting for me, although it was difficult at times.”
A statement from the Presidential Palace said on Wednesday Karzai thanked de Mistura for his services to Afghanistan and wished him success in future undertakings.
