GHAZNI CITY (PAN fighters were killed and as many wounded during a clash with Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers in southern Ghazni province, officials said on Monday.
The fire exchange happened in the Abu Qala area of Andar district late on Sunday when an ANA patrol saw a man planting a roadside bomb, Gen. Daud Shah Wafadar, the 203rd Thunder Military Corps commander, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
A rocket launcher along with three shells, one AK-47 assault rifle and explosives were seized by the troops, he said, adding the gunbattle lasted about 30 minutes. The soldiers suffered no casualties.
Brig. Gen. Zarawar Zahid, the provincial police chief, confirmed the clash, saying four Taliban fighters had suffered casualties.
