KHOST CITY (PAN): Three Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers fell sick after drinking poisonous water in the Sabari district of southeastern Khost province, an official said on Wednesday.
Five suspects had been arrested in connection with the plot, the 203rd Thunder Military Corps spokesman in Khost, Abdullah told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The soldiers fell ill when they drank water from a tank near a mosque condition is stable.
Police had stopped people from drinking water from the tank, Abdullah said.
On January 19, a similar incident took place at a military training centre in Kabul, with some reports saying a dozen ANA soldiers had died. But the reports were later rejected by the Ministry of Defence, saying there were no casualties and some soldiers fell sick due use of dirty water in washing vegetables.
