KHOST CITY (PAN): One Afghan National Army (ANA) soldier was killed and three others injured in a blast in southeastern Khost province, officials said on Friday.
The 203rd Thunder Military Corps in a statement said an ANA patrol came under attack in Cholan area of Khost city, the provincial capital, on Thursday night.
A Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the attack, saying the ANA troops suffered heavy causalities.
Meanwhile, three people were killed in an armed clash between two groups in Tani district on Friday morning.
The clash started after the two groups exchanged harsh words. As a result, two persons from one family and a third from the second family were killed, said the district chief Syed Ahmad Khan Wafa. Police had reached the scene for investigation, he added.
Locals confirmed the incident, saying the clash ended after elders intervened.
