TALOQAN (PAN-designated district chief for Rustaq district in the northern province of Takhar has been arrested, the intelligence department said on Tuesday.
Mullah Imamuddin, the shadow district chief, was arrested in Ganda village, the department in a statement said, without providing the exact date for the arrest.
The statement said detainee had confessed to be a shadow district chief for the district.
In another development, a suspect identified as Mohammad Yousuf, was arrested on the charge of links with the militant in Baharak district.
In Helmand, nearly 1,000 kilograms of explosives used in making suicide vests and roadside bombs and 15 anti-tank bombs were seized during an operation by intelligence operatives in Nahr-i-Saraj district.
