GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Three militants, planting roadside bombs, were killed in an airstrike by foreign troops in southern Ghazni province, an official said on Saturday, but locals claimed the dead were civilians.
The three were planting mines on the Kabul helicopter, the governor’s spokesman told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Mudassir Afghan said the incident took place in the Navagai area on the outskirts of Khwaja Omari district late on Friday. Two of the dead were brothers and the identity of the third person killed was yet to be known.
But residents said the dead were civilians, who had no connection with the insurgents.
Abdul Jabar, a resident of the area, said the victims were on their way home in a vehicle from Kabul when came under attack from a foreign troops’ aircraft.
