ISLAMABAD (PAN on Monday reaffirmed its all-out support for an Afghan-led reconciliation process in the neighbouring country.
Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar stressed an Afghan-led peace effort was central to achieving a durable political settlement, peace, stability and progress.
At a meeting here, Khar discussed with United Nations Secretary General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Jan Kubis the current situation in Afghanistan.
The UN mission’s role in Afghanistan also figured at the meeting, with the foreign minister saying the fate of the two neighbouring countries was interlinked.
About three million Afghan refugees living in Pakistan would be able to return home with dignity, Khar hoped, urging the world to focus on building Afghan institutions.
Also present at the meeting, Interior Minister Rahman Malik promised to back UN efforts at stabilising Afghanistan, a statement from the foreign ministry said.
