KHOST CITY (PAN): One civilian was killed and seven others, including a woman, were injured in a bomb blast in southeastern Khost province on Friday, an official said.
The incident took place at 11am in the Faiz Muhammad Khan area of Khost City, the provincial capital. The remote-controlled bomb, rigged to a bicycle, exploded near policemen, witness Syed Rahman told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Khost Civil Hospital Director Dr Hidayatullah Hamidi said a body and seven injured people had been brought to the hospital. The injured were in stable condition, he added.
According to Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, the target of the attack was a Quick Reaction Force patrol in Lakano area of the city. One police official was killed and another injured, he claimed.
