Pakistan to attend Dushanbe, Tokyo conferences

<p>ISLAMABAD (<a href="/en/pan" class="glossify-link">PAN</a>, Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar said on Thursday.</p>

<p>At a meeting with Afghan Ambassador Mohammad Omar Daudzai, she said her country would take part in next month’s conference on regional economic cooperation in Tajikistan.</p>

<p>The conference is the 5th gathering to be attended by Afghanistan, Pakistan, Russia and Tajikistan. Islamabad will also participate in the Tokyo meeting, Khar said in a statement.</p>

<p>Scheduled for July 2012, the Tokyo conference will disuse the international community’s cooperation with Afghanistan till 2025. Forty countries are expected to attend the moot.</p>

<p>During the meeting, Khar and Daudzai exchanged views on the Afghanistan-Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement (<a href="/en/aptta" class="glossify-link">APTTA</a>), the statement said.</p>

<p>A trilateral meeting among Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran on counterterrorism and regional cooperation was held recently in Islamabad.</p>

<p>Daudzai said President Karzai’s recent visit to Islamabad was a success. The visiting president had held fruitful talks with the Pakistani officials, he concluded.</p>
