JALALABAD (PAN): Eighteen people, including an orphan schoolchildren, were wounded in a roadside bombing in the eastern province of Nangarhar, officials said.
The incident occurred in the Angurbagh square of Jalalabad city, the provincial capital, at around 8am, the governor’s spokesman, Ahmad Zai Abdulzai, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Four orphaned children on their way school, seven policemen and three traffic officials, were among the 18 people injured in the blast, he said.
The wounded children were in a critical condition, the Public Health Director, Dr. Baz Mohammad Sherzad, said.
Meanwhile, a child was killed as a result of another bombing in the Hada Farm area on the outskirtss of Jalalabad city on Wednesday evening, Abdulzai said.
