GHAZNI CITY (PAN-made handicrafts was inaugurated in southern Ghazni province on Monday.
Under a joint venture by two public representatives, 30 women had set up their stalls at the show at the provincial council’s office in Ghazni City.
One of the organisers, Hamidi Gulistani told Pajhwok Afghan News the exhibition was to encourage local women improve their skills and find markets for their products.
Farida, a stall owner, said handicrafts were the main source of income for women and the exhibition provided them a platform to promote their business.
She said they needed access to markets to sell their products at reasonable price.
Hamidullah Sarwari, the provincial information and culture director, said his department was making efforts to find markets for handicrafts made by women.
He added women in the province were capable of making quality handicrafts.
