The precision airstrike that took place after the two militants were spotted emplacing roadside bombs — a pressure plate device and a remote-controlled mine, the International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) said.
After the raid in Baghlan-i-Jadid district, the ISAF statement said, Afghan and coalition forces removed and destroyed both explosives and detained the wounded insurgent.
The bomb maker constructed explosive devices for attacks against Afghan and coalition troops and trained other insurgents in constructing roadside bombs, the statement said.
