JALALABAD (PAN): A district chief escaped unhurt but his guards were wounded in a roadside bomb attack in eastern Nangarhar province on Saturday evening.
The Spin Ghar district administrative head, Shakirullah Durrani, was returning home from a poppy eradication campaign in the Shidal area when the bomb went off.
“The wounded security guards were taken to hospital and they are reported to be in stable condition,” Durrani told Pajhwok Afghan News.
As usual, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the attack and said six policemen were also killed in the blast.
Eight people were killed and wounded in a similar bomb blast in Pachiragam district several days ago.
