PUL-I-KHUMRI (PAN): Two powerful blasts, triggered by a warhead and a remote-controlled bomb, injured 23 people in the Baghlan Markazi district of northern Baghlan province, an official said on Monday.
The blast occurred at about 8:15am during the morning rush hour, injuring 12 students, six civilians and five policemen, including the district crime branch chief, deputy police chief Haji Ghafar told Pajhwok Afghan News. He said the injured were taken to hospitals.
Dr. Khalil Narmgo, head of the surgery ward, said the injured were rushed to the district hospital and some were in critical condition.
Witness, Mohammadullah, said Col. Gul Agha, acting district police chief, was also injured in the explosion. However, injuries to him are yet to be confirmed by authorities.
