KHOST CITY (PAN): Three policemen were killed and as many children wounded in a suicide bombing in the Alisher district of southeastern Khost province on Saturday, officials said.
The bomber struck in the Trizai bazaar at 1.30pm, the district chief, Amir Badshah told Pajhwok Afghan News. It remained unclear whether the assailant was on foot or in a car, he said.
A joint checkpoint of border guards and national police in the area was attacked, the official said, adding that security personnel had been dispatched to the site to investigate the bombing.
Badshah said there was no immediate claim of responsibility, but the Taliban are often blamed for attacks on Afghan government and foreign forces.
