GARDEZ CITY (PAN) unmanned aircraft crashed in the southeastern Paktia province, local authorities said on Sunday.
In a statement, ISAF confirmed that the crash took place on Saturday night due to mechanical failure and all assets had been recovered in the Zurmat district of the province.
The governor’s spokesman, Rohullah Samoon, confirmed that ISAF’s small spy plane crashed due to technical problems but denied the involvement of the Taliban in the incident.
However, a Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, said their fighters shot down the unmanned aerial vehicle on Saturday night in the area.
