JALALABAD (PAN): The decapitated body of a 17-year-old girl was found in the Khogyani district of eastern Nangarhar province on Friday, officials said.
The girl was beheaded on Thursday night in the Sara Kala area, the district’s administrative chief, Abdul Rahman, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
With the victim’s identity yet to be established, the girl’s outfit suggested she belonged to an urban area, he said, indicating that she was brought to the village from another area.
Police took the corpse to a local hospital and launched an investigation into the murder. A doctor at the hospital, Abdullah, said the body had been transferred to a Jalalabad-based forensic libratory for an autopsy.
The girl’s body was found dumped in farms of the Sara Kala village, said a resident of the area, Mohammadullah, who blamed the government for failing to control such crimes.
