Kandahar-Quetta bus service soon

_{The governor’s spokesman, Javed Faisal, quoted Kandahar Transport Director Najibullah Ahmadi as saying that his department was making hectic efforts in cooperation with other departments to get the service started.}

_{Ahmadi told a weekly meeting of departmental heads at the governor’s house that 90 percent of work on the project had been completed and currently officials of the two countries were in talks on technical issues and security arrangements.}

_{Ahmadi informed the meeting that coasters would soon start plying roads in Kandahar City, with passengers paying less in fare, compared to other public transport vehicles.}

_{The transport director said his department had assigned 20 cars with transporting passengers between the city and the airport.}

_{News of Kandahar-Quetta bus service comes days after the Pakistani consul-general in Kandahar said a rail track would be constructed between the two cities.}

_{Farmanullah Yousafzai said high-level talks on the railroad had already taken place and a decision to execute the project had been made. The envoy said an agreement on the bus service had been reached between the two sides and it would be launched soon.}
