KABUL): Four insurgents were detained and a weapons and ammunition cache seized during separate joint operations by Afghan and international troops in different provinces over the past 24 hours, the US military said on Saturday.
A joint Afghan-coalition security force discovered and defused two improvised explosives devices (IEDs) in the Gilan district of southern Ghazni province and Bak district of southeastern Khost, the Bagram-based coalition forces said in a statement.
Meanwhile, a weapon and ammunition cache was found during a separate operation in Khost, the statement said.
Elsewhere in the province, the combined troops detained three insurgents after a clash in the Sabari district. A rebel was caught red handed planting an IED in the Baraki Barak district of central Logar province.
