KUNDUZ CITY (PAN): More than 4,000 families would benefit from the inauguration of 17 infrastructure projects in the northern province of Kunduz.
The project includes 40 wells that are equipped with hand pumps, graveling of 3.5 kilometres of road, construction of 43 small bridges, seven community centres, extension of over three kilometer electric wire, 20-metre retaining wall and three vocational training courses for 45 women.
The director of rural rehabilitation and development department, Engineer Abdul Rab Hakimi, said the projects were completed under the National Solidarity Programme at a total cost of more than 18 million afghanis, allocated under the Ministry of Rehabilitation and Rural Development’s budget.
According to officials, more than 2,220 infrastructure projects, costing more than one billion afghanis had been inaugurated over the past eight years, after the NSP activities were launched.
