MAIDAN SHAHR (PAN): Seven militants were killed during a military operation in several districts of central Maidan Wardak province, an official told on Saturday.
An International Security Agency Forces (ISAF) airstrike killed seven fighters in Jaghatu district, the governor’s spokesman, Shahidullah Shahid, told Pajhwok Afghan News. The insurgents were Ghazni residents.
In a separate offensive, ISAF and Afghan forces killed a militant in Syedabad district on late Friday, he added. A large quantity of ammunitions was seized. The security personnel remained unharmed.
Similarly, three rebels were captured alive in Nirkh district. The detainees were identified as Ismatullah, Abdul Wahid and Mullah Abdul Salam — all loyal to militant commander Allah Noor.
