GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Six people were injured on Wednesday when a remote-controlled bomb was detonated in southern Ghazni province, witnesses said.
Two policemen and four civilians suffered injuries when the bomb went off close to the police headquarters, near Bakhtar Bank, provincial police chief Zarawar Zahid told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The incident happened at about 5 pm.
Windowpanes of nearby shops and Bakhar Bank’s branch were smashed due to the explosion, he added.
Five injured policemen were rushed to the Ghazni Civil Hospital, said Dr. Baaz Mohmmad Himmat, head of the hospital.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed responsibility for the blast, saying seven policemen were killed and five others injured in the detonation.
