HERAT CITY (PAN): A four-day exhibition of drawings by 140 children in the capital the western Herat province concluded on Friday with the selection of three best pieces, officials said.
The contestants — aged between seven and 14 years had their drawings displayed at the event aimed at promoting peace and stability in the country.
Organiser Suraya Rahimi, also the editor of a magazine called Salam Salam Bachaha (Hello, Hello, Children!), said the exhibition attracted hundreds of families.
She said similar events would be organised in other provinces and capital Kabul.
The exhibition was held at the Saljuqi Hall in Herat City, with financial support from the cultural department of the US Consulate. Mehr Afreen, 11, won the first position and Shabnam finished second.
