CHAGHCHIRAN (PAN province on Thursday denounced the death of eloped couple and asked harsh punishment for the murders.
The girl and a boy were shot dead after being caught two months ago in the Charsada district of Ghor province. But the issue rose when the mobile phone video of two men, shooting the couple was scattered among people, the residents said.
Mohammad, a taxi driver told Pajhwok Afghan News that he saw the couple in video, were stripped off before shooting them to death.
The girl, 24 was married three years ago to a man who has been killed by unknown men with axe, a member of provincial council, Fazal Haq Ihsan, said.
After the death of her husband, the family forced her to marry her brother in law (her husband’s brother) but she opposed to marry with the man. Two months later she eloped with a young boy, so the husband’s family killed both of them, when they were found, he said.
“If someone committed to a crime, legal action should be taken against him/her, not illegal one”, Ihsan said.
Commissioner of AIRHC in Ghor, Mohammad Jawad Razayee, strongly denounced the murders and expressed his concern over the failing of government to prevent such Kangaroo trails. He called on the government to arrest the killers and award them harsh punishment.
Governor Sayed Anwar Ali Rahmati said most violence against women in areas controlled by warlords.
So far this year, 33 violence cases against women, including six murders and five suicide cases have been registered, the director of women’s affairs, Hajirah, said.
