HERAT CITY (PAN): An attorney and a police official were detained in the capital of western Herat province on Wednesday, authorities said.
High Office of Oversight and Anti-Corruption chief in the western zone Mohammad Tahir Anbari said the attorney was held red-handed while receiving a bribe.
National Directorate of Security raided a city hotel, where he was taking 50,000 afghanis in bribe from a person, Anbari told Pajhwok Afghan News.
Urban Prosecutor Gul Ahmad Ramish confirmed the arrests, saying that the matter was under investigation. He did not give further details.
