HERAT CITY (PAN): A bomb exploded near the Guzra district headquarters in western Herat province on Saturday, killing two people, officials said.
Nisar Ahmad, the district chief, confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News that the bombing took place at around 1:30pm near the office complex.
Two unidentified men on the motorcycle were killed in the blast, he said, adding that they had launched an investigation into the incident.
Abdul Hameed Hameedi, Herat’s deputy provincial police chief, confirmed the explosion. However, he had no further details.
According to police spokesman, Col. Noor Khan Nekzad the blast happened at 12.20pm in Khaljan village. The men were killed by the bomb they were carrying.
No one has so far claimed responsibility for the bombing.
In Kabul, the interior ministry said two terrorists were killed by their own explosives that were rigged to a motorcycle. No one else was harmed in this incident.
