KABUL): The Ministry of Commerce and Industries on Monday fixed the rate of liquefied gas at 55 afghanis per kilogram in capital Kabul. The current price ranges between 65 and 70 afs.
Petroleum department head at the ministry, Eng. Faridullah Sherzai, said they had fixed the rate at a meeting with liquefied gas importers.
He told Pajhwok Afghan News the decision had to be enforced by state and private shops. He promised they would ensure its implementation. Fuel Importers had agreed to sell a kg of liquefied gas for 47 afs to wholesalers, he said.
Residents of the capital, meanwhile, welcomed the decision, but doubted its implementation. Siddiqullah, living in the Khairkhana locality, said: “I have been purchasing one kilogram of liquefied gas for 70 afs for the past month.”
