Militants killed, IEDs cleared in east

KABUL, the US military said on Monday.

The militants were killed during an engagement with the combined force in the Bar Kunar district of Kunar province on Sunday, a statement from the Bagram Airbase said.

In Khost province, an IED was found and safely cleared in Nadir Shah Kot district, according to the statement, which said similar explosive devices were also defused in Nangarhar and Paktika.
