KHOST CITY (PAN director on Sunday accused the Health Net International (HNI), of failing to recruit female doctors for more than a dozen hospitals under a contract requirement.

Dr. Amir Badshah Mangal said the HNI, headquartered in Amsterdam, that operates on a project basis, had signed a contract on providing female doctors to 13 hospitals in the southeastern province, but it had been unable so far to do so since the contract was signed three years back.

Mangal told Pajhwok Afghan News during an interview doctors recruited by the Ministry of Public Health received 6,000 afghanis each in monthly salaries while those by the HNI were paid 35,000afs to 75,000afs.

He said the organization had employed unprofessional doctors who had been unable to reach hospitals in-time. As a result, he said, many professional and expert doctors had resigned and chose to run own clinics. The public health director said the HNI did not allow them to monitor its activities.
