KABUL said on Sunday.
Two insurgents were killed in Charkh district of Logar and a third in Sherzad district of Nangarhar, the NATO-led force said in a statement. A large quantity of ammunitions and explosives were also seized.
Meanwhile, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said one policeman was killed and another wounded during an attack on a post in the Hesarak district of Nangarhar. The post was completely destroyed, he claimed.
In northern Baghlan, foreign troops captured a rebel commander along with two of his associates during an operation in the Baghlan-i-Jadid district, police said.
The detainee was accused of providing logistic support to the insurgents and planning attacks on international and Afghan forces, said the Baghlan police chief Brig. Gen. Ghulam Sakhi Rustaqi.
He added Afghan forces in the province were not part of the overnight operation that involved NATO helicopters. The detainees included Mullah, said the police chief.
