BAMYAN CITY (PAN fighters were killed and three others wounded during a clash with police in the Kajran district of central Daikundi province, officials said on Tuesday.
The clash erupted in the morning when the Taliban attacked security personnel in the southwestern part of Kajran district, Governor Qurban Ali Uruzgani told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said two insurgents were killed, three others wounded in the clash, which also left three policemen wounded. “The Taliban tried to overrun a former US base that was recently handed over to police,” he added.
The deputy head of the provincial council from Kajran, Syed Ishaq Akhlaqi, said the attack had been planned in the Baghran district of Helmand province.
