BAMYAN CITY (PAN): Two people were stabbed to death in separate incidents that led to the arrests of six suspects in central Bamyan province, police said on Saturday.
A mechanic was stabbed in Bamyan City, the provincial capital, crime branch chief, Maj. Chaman Ali, told journalists. A guard at a health clinic died in a similar attack on Friday night, he said.
Police had arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of the mechanic and recovered a bayonet, two pistols and as many military uniforms from them, Ali said.
Another four suspects were detained as the investigation went on, he said, adding a knife, a brass knuckle, a handcuff and four military uniforms were seized from them.
But no arrest has been made yet in connection with the security guard’s murder, with police saying a manhunt was underway.
Police chief Brig. Gen. Mohammad Razzaq Elkhani opined the detainees might be involved in armed robberies on highways. They were being interrogated, he said.
