KUNDUZ CITY (PAN): Three public order policemen were injured as a result of a roadside bombing in the in Dasht-i-Abdan area of northern Kunduz province on Saturday afternoon, an official said.
The bomb placed beneath a culvert exploded at 2pm when a police vehicle was passing through the area on the outskirts of the Kunduz City, the police spokesman, Syed Sarwar Hussaini, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The explosives placed in a plastic barrel were detonated by remote-control device, said the governor’s spokesman, Enayatullah Khaliq.
A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, claimed responsibility for the blast, saying eight policemen were killed and their vehicle destroyed.
