CHARIKAR and northern provinces, in central Parwan and Baghlan provinces, an official said on Tuesday.
The storm caused avalanches on Monday night, blocking both northern and southern portions of the 2,673-metre-long Soviet-built tunnel, the highway maintenance officer, Yawar Samiullah, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The closure left hundreds of vehicles stranded in Tajikan area of Jabalus Saraj district in Parwan and in Malakhan area of Khanjan district in northern Baghlan, he added.
