GHAZNI CITY (PAN): Two local policemen were killed after a group of armed insurgents ambushed their vehicle on the outskirts of Ghazni City, the capital of southern Ghazni province, an official said on Saturday.
The gun attack in the Khodaidad area took place late on Friday, when the NATO-backed Afghan Local Police (ALP) members were passing the area, said Fazl Mohammad Sabawon, the governor’s spokesman.
He told Pajhwok Afghan News the security men belonged the Deh Yak district and were proceeding to their duty area when they were ambushed.
A doctor on duty at the Civil Hospital in Ghazni City, Dr Mohammad Akram, confirmed receiving two dead bodies of ALP members.
