ISLAMABAD: Four people were killed in a suspected US drone strike in Pakistan border on Friday morning.
The pilotless aircraft fired two missiles into a house in Dattakhel sub-district, killing four suspected militants, an intelligence official confided to Pajhwok Afghan News.
A political administration official in Miranshah also confirmed the strike and said the dead were insurgents and their supporters. He said the missiles were at a vehicle carrying the suspects.
Following the raid, the fighters ringed the area and retrieved the bodies from the rubble, said resident Abdullah, who added that four drones hovered for some time over the locality.
Up to 3,577 people, including some 884 civilians, have died in CIA-operated drone attacks in Pakistan since 2004, according to Britain’s Bureau of Investigative Journalism.
