HERAT CITY (PAN): Six fighters were killed and four others wounded during a military operation in western Herat province, an official said on Thursday.
The operation was conducted late on Wednesday in Abkal and Mandal areas of Shindand district, Col. Nasto Nasiri, 207th Zafar Military Corps spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said some rebel hideouts were also destroyed. One soldier was injured but he is stable condition.
With the Taliban yet to comment over the incident, resident Syed Karim confirmed the operation but had no idea about the casualties.
